Our network aims at establishing, linking and sharing of knowledge, ideas, skills, experiences and strategies on good community mapping practice to secure territorial entitlements, intangible positive cultural heritage, and commonly shared natural resources to the advantage of local and indigenous communities.

The network seeks to build up, expand, nourish and liberate local communities and development practitioners in good Community Mapping practice.

In realization of this regional iniatiative, ERMIS Africa has set-up a Regional PGIS Resource Centre for (i) coordination of network activities, (ii) dissemination of network outputs, (iii) organisation and delivery of regional trainings and capacity building initiatives.
