In celebration of the International Day of Potato on 30 May, this community of practice brings together farmers, researchers, policymakers, youth, civil society, private sector partners and potato enthusiasts from around the world with the common goal of raising awareness and inspiring action for sustainable potato production and consumption.In particular, the group will identify opportunities and gaps within the potato value chain to promote a shift towards sustainable agrifood systems.

The objective of this group is to learn from each other and strengthen collective impact at local, regional and global levels. It will also serve as a hub for sharing key files, documents and updates. You don’t always have to log in to interact here as you can also reach the group directly by email at [International-Day-of-Potato@Dgroups.org], specifying the topic of discussion in the subject line.

Here, members can:

i. Share knowledge, innovations, and success stories across the potato value chain — from cultivation and storage to processing, marketing and nutrition.

ii. Announce and promote events, campaigns and initiatives linked to potatoes.

iii. Collaborate on solutions to common challenges such as pests, storage losses and market access.

iv. Share successes on potatoes’ role in diverse, healthy and affordable diets.
