The Uganda Women Administrators Forum

In the months of October and November 2012, ACFODE held a series of dialogues for women administrators in the districts of Pader, Dokolo and Namutumba. The district level dialogues climaxed with a national dialogue themed Increasing space and visibility for Women Administrators, which was held at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.

The dialogues offered an opportunity for women administrators to share experiences, build synergies and also reflect on the power they wield as we strive and advocate for gender equality. In the districts of Pader, Dokolo and Namutumba, foras for women in public administration were created to continually influence byelaws and ordinances, plans and programmes at the district level to have women issues reflected at all levels.

This mailing list has been created out of all these interactions to keep the fire that has been lit burning. We would like this forum to be used as a platform for continuous interaction and collaboration among women administrators, especially on issues that directly affect them and affect every woman administrator; engagements for productive debate for enhanced learning and information sharing which will push women administrators to a higher pedestal in the public domain.
